Villa Kobeimalhéna was built by its owner's grandfather in the early 1900s — a family home that has stood through a century of Sri Lankan history, cradled by the same coconut palms and under the same southern sky.

Each room carries the character of the house itself — original teak furniture, high raftered ceilings, and the kind of stillness only found deep in the Sri Lankan countryside. No two rooms are the same.
The Dining Room
The colonial dining room, with its cathedral ceiling and original teak long table, seats the whole house together. Antique stained-glass windows cast coloured light across the room in the late afternoon.

Getting Here
Kobeimalhéna sits at Sulthanagoda, just outside Matara in Sri Lanka's Southern Province — close enough to the coast for day trips, far enough from everything to truly disappear.
The scenic coastal railway from Colombo stops at Matara. By road, the Southern Expressway brings you from Colombo Airport in around 3.5 hours.
